Writing Poetry

Last week I wrote a poem and won first place for my school.
My prize was that I got a pencil and two books. One is about
Nancy Drew, and the other is a diary about someone's life in history.
Although I like to win, I mostly like just having
fun writing the poem. My dad is the one to
thank. I think he's the one who inspired
me to start writing poetry. Here's my poem!

I Get Real Bored in Math Class

I get real bored in math class,

So I find something to do.

I could be a scientist

And find a cure for the flu.

I dream that I'm a cowgirl

With a big rodeo show,

A horse that's going wild --

I'm a real fantastic pro!

I dream that I'm a builder

With hammers and tiny nails,

Working hard all day and night

Even when it rains and hails.

I dream that I am a clown

With a polka dotted suit

Walking like a penguin as

I am playing on the flute.

Then my teacher says “Esther!”

And I'm up within a blink.

I was sleeping on math books --

Now I have to start to think!

Here Comes Summer

It feels so much like summer and I am really exited
 because last summer we (my cousins and I) had a blast.
I'm not even sure I can wait that long, but it will come
eventually. While I'm there I'll spend time wisely
because the summer is limited!

Spring Has Sprung!

It looks like Spring already and I'm at the park almost every day.

I loved winter, but spring is even better! One of these photos was from Cappadocia and the other from Ankara on the way to church. Can't wait til' summer, but I  will enjoy spring while it is here.

Fall is here

Fall is here, hip hip hooray.
Now it's time for a spooky day,
with witches' brooms
with extra haunted rooms.
But that's not all, in the fall...
There are leaves that
have colors: red, yellow
orange, and brown.
There's no time for a frown.
Jack o's too, and scary ghosts
that say boo.
And tricks and treats and me too!

Hi, my name is Esther,
Some of you should know me,
but I will tell about myself anyway.
I am 9 years old and love adventures.
I have a BIG family.
I also absolutely LOVE Elephants.
I go to Oasis and have many friends there.
I have fun all the time and have a cat that is named Phaselis.
Did I forget to say that it is almost BACK TO SCHOOL?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I can't wait until school starts in a week, I am so prepared.
